Since the Fourth of July this year falls on a weekday, the celebrations started early around here and on Friday the hubs and I decided to venture out and participate in the fun.
We headed down to the fireworks and claimed our spots on the hill where we got one of the best views of the show. Since I'm usually the one behind the camera, pictures of Big Man and I together are few and far between now a days, so I'm glad my sister captured this one of us.
Excuse my three chins and just focus on my pretty new floral Vera Wangs from Kohl's. These are usually not my style but I got to admit, I am completely digging them.
Besides my sunglasses, here are some other cuties that were there...

With the kiddos, parents, and everyone's jobs, it's hard getting everyone together so it was a blessing to be able to spend time with both my sisters, my two brother in laws, and my three babes. How can you not love those faces?!?
While we waited on our blankets in the grass, BS'ing and taking pictures...we indulged in some Italian Ice.
It's been crazy hot here lately and Friday night was no exception.
A icy cold treat definitely hit the spot.
The sun started to set though and that's when the real show started....
There's just something about those brights flashes lighting up the sky and the echoing booms that scream summertime to me. I don't think that I will ever tire of fireworks.
And the best part of any fireworks display....

Great fireworks pictures! Looks like you had a fun weekend. We were supposed to go to my cousin's big 4th of July BBQ & fireworks this weekend but they had to postpone due to the heat and it's too dry for fireworks:(
I LOVE fireworks! 4th of July is my fav. holiday (for the fireworks alone!) We are going Wednesday to see them! Great pictures!

Great pictures! My Little Man got to see a few fireworks last weekend but ALL of the cities around me are cancelling their fireworks shows because of the extreme heat and the fact that we have had NO rain for weeks!

Fireworks are so magical!
We haven't got to see any yet. If I'm not in the hospital having this girlie on the 4th, we plan to take the kiddos somewhere to watch them.
Glad you got in some good family time! I love fireworks but I don't worry about if I get to see them or not on the 4th. This year we probably won't 'cause we are just going to a BBQ.
We probably won't see any this year since my little guy goes to bed before dark.

Eeek, those firework pictures are the BEST! I've been looking forward to 4th of July simply for that reason, and can't wait to take some myself! Looks like an awesome weekend :)
I fricking love fireworks!! But its so hot that the thought of camping out for a spot to see them this year makes me sweat...how lame is it to watch them on TV? *sigh* Its not the same.
