Welcome to the first week of
Since getting my Rebel for Christmas, I have been playing around with it and trying to figure out all the ins and outs of it. I want to learn how to take fabulous and beautiful pictures and the only way to do that is to get out there and take some. I want to learn all about apertures and ISO's and how to get a shot exactly how I want it.
Step One would be to actually read the manual and get acquainted with it, which I plan on doing this week but in hopes that practice makes perfect, I've decided to participate in the photography challenge Project 365.
If you haven't heard of it, it is where you take a picture every day for 365 days (one year) to document your life or whatever tickles your fancy.
So here is Week One of mine...
Day One:
What better way to start Project 365 than with a new banner for it?!? Since I don't have the moolah for Photoshop yet, I am a lovah of the handy dandy Picnik.
Day Two:
The disassembling of our Christmas tree *super sad face*. Though I didn't really want to take my tree down so soon, I also didn't want to worry about it after I got back to work. So off came the ornaments and packed away in the attic they went.
Day Three:
We've been meal planning and one of 'easy days' was grilled cheese and soup. Nom Nom Nom! If you know me, you know I'm a fan of all things cheesy, so this was right up my alley.
Day Four:
Our Mia Martian. Daddy always yells for her to get out of the kitchen but Mommy doesn't mind, especially if she stays still long enough for me to snap a picture.
Day Five:
This was the hubs mean muggin' me when we was coming in from the garage. He's not a fan of candid snapshots especially when I catch him in such an unflattering light...haha..he told me not to put this pic up cause it looked like he was going to slap the shit out of me. Haha.....don't worry girls, I'd whoop his ass before he could ever get mine ; )
Day Six:
Our sad dying Christmas tree left in the yard until trash day. She was so pretty at one time and now she is a washed up and put out like a old hooker : (
Day Seven:
Laundry Day!!! Stripped the sheets and threw all the clothes down stairs to get their wash on.
Well that's all folks.
Are you doing Project 365?!?

Jealous of your new camera, I'm sending out big hints about getting one for my March bday :)
Great post!
I had grilled cheese this week, too - such a perfect (and EASY!) winter meal! Enjoy getting to know your new camera!
I highly recommend Photoshop Elements...way cheaper than regular Photoshop, and I have found a TON of awesome PSE actions.
Aw I should do this but I'm a week late already. Good idea though!
I love the idea of project 365. Maybe I will do it at some point. Reading the manual...I usually hate to do that and can often avoid it but on some things you just gotta do it.
Ooh... i should do this. Though, in 2012 it should be called Project 366. It's a Leap Year! :P
I bought a book that helps explain how to use the manual settings on your camera. It's called Understanding Exposure. There's also a 12 weeks to better photos workshop you can do online.
i would love to do this ... but i have a feeling i won't keep up! but i am def. looking forward to following you along ... but of course to see the amazing pictures you share from your new camera :)
found your blog from the link up :)
one of my favorite winter meals is soup & grilled cheese!!!
Love love love these! You are doing an excellent job with your new camera. I tried the 365 picture once before but I failed. :( Maybe I'll try it again when the little one gets here. Keep doing what you're doing girl!
I took my tree down a little early this year too, I didn't want to let it go!
Mmmm, grilled cheese. I might need to introduce Ethan to that tomorrow now. Yummy.
Love the photos...especially the captions for 5 and 6. LOL :)
Cool project!! We got a new camera as a wedding present to ourselves BUT we both refuse to read the darn manual! One day! = D
