Dirty Girl...Bedroom StyleGet your minds out of the gutter nasty girls.
We're not talking about the bow-chicka-wow-wow of our bedroom but rather the messy state of which we were currently living in. My mission for Organization 2012 is well underway and the bedroom was the first stop on the ride.
To be more specific, the closet was organization station #1...
Yeaahhhhhhh....about that.
Looks like things got out of control in closet a bit.
I'd love to say that this was a single occurrence but this is how my closet looks more often than not.
I try to keep up with it but having a messy husband and sharing a closet is not my ideal situation. So Sunday morning I was up bright and early and decided that it was time to pull everything out and organize.
Pulling everything out, I found quite a few things...
Quite a few handbags...
Lots of pencils and highlighters
A throwback wedding book along with books from college
Undeveloped cameras and throwback pictures (<-- I'll have to post some....wowser, I wasn't always the cutie I am today; ) )
In the midst of my cleaning, I did make an extra mess for myself when I picked up my shredder by the lid...
Not a good look, my friends, not a good look.
Moving along...
A couple hours, a garbage bag, and donation bag later....
It might not look like much has changed but to me, I can def. see the difference.
Of all things wrangling Big Man's tees and clothes was the most changed and improved. I feel so much better and at peace knowing that everything is folded and color coordinated and in it's place.
Like Mrs. Momma Bee...I also ROYGBIV my clothes and separate everything into tees, dress shirts, dresses, jeans, etc.
Ahhh...one down but many more to go.
P.S. We also got new sheets for our bed and they are ahhh-mazing . Those paired with our new fluffy pillows, now makes me feel like I'm sleeping at a resort everytime I hop in bed. Pure bliss.
Do you just throw your clothes all around like me or do you keep your sleeping quarters immaculate?!?

Oh man usually my closet is kinda a wreck :) Thank goodness I have a walkin and just shut the door, ha!

I separated all my clothes and set my closet right on New Year's day. It's still clean.
Our bedroom is on my to-do organize list too. Nick is veryyyy messy and it spills out to all over the room. Between that and the fact that our bedroom is a weirdly small shape, it isn't the prettiest space. I hope to fix that!
I try and keep our closets organized, but it's something I have to work at. We are fortunate that we don't have to share a closet right now. I organize my closet by color/type of clothing. I stopped doing that to hubs' closet when he complained, but then he realized he couldn't find anything, so we're back to doing it my way. :)
Oooh I bet that felt good to get that all cleaned and organized :) I keep our bedroom pretty clean. I have a real problem with letting things get messy, I am kinda a crazy person about it sometimes. I actually have a hard time falling asleep if things are all over the place. It's a good thing and a bad thing, depending on the day I guess.

You did all of that on a Sunday which is often the laziest weekend day of all? I'm very impressed. It looks good and it sure does feel good to be organized.
My closet is definitely a hot mess. I need to go through and organize it too! Good idea to put the dresser in the closet to free up room space!

I feel like my bedroom makes me a hoarder at times! lol. It's not THAT bad, but I HATE putting clothes away. I need to get organized in 2012 too!

It looks fantastic! I usually keep ours pretty neat (we share a closet very similar to what yours looks like), but every now and then it becomes a HOT MESS! :)

Looks like the tornado hit you're house too lol i refuse to take pictures the toy mountains are getting ridiculous and the tents the kids build are gi-normous they will soon be coming down though love the brown sheets :) we have brown and teal.

i have been really good with putting my clothes and shoes away. big shocker because i use to thrown them anywhere i could, haha. but i enjoy a clean room ... makes it easier to fall asleep!

My husband is the cleanest, neatest person I know so I had to curb my messiness so that he doesn't go insane. I'm STILL not as clean as him but I do try. I need to refold some sweaters as in my current state I'm just "folding and flinging." If they fall over I just shut the door quickly. ;(

ugh, i hate having everything all tossed around the room but sadly that is the state of our room as well.... then I organize and get all at peace and happy.... and then within a week its a mess again haha
